I found combat a lot easier and a lot better in the new build
My first day involved me going on a road trip from Muldraugh to the secret government facility and getting eaten by zombies in riot armour
What are the texture mods ?
I have 200 hours in this game and never thought about using furniture to barricade like that! And I never had quite luck like you lol. Nice vid man!
One good way of making your base safe I find is if you get a gun and just fire away, wait for zombies to find you and just walk away firing the occasional shot, lead the herd away TWD style. I've seen people say it's bad to use guns early but so long as you pick a good location it's good for leading zombies away and getting a little bit of skill, especially if you have a pistol and only 1 mag because if it has say 15 rounds I'm pretty sure you get 1xp every time your character puts a bullet in.
Which you can do while walking.
So it's actually pretty safe, you just need to map out where you're going.
Do remember however that zombies are fairly persistent so if you ever end up running where you lead them they'll probably still be there.
What mods you playing on? Your game looks quite different than mine.
I just recently got on build 41 and made the mistake of trying to spawn into Raven Creek solo. I've died like 4 times there? Insane zombie density.

In general when you start out early, do you recommend "clearing" a part of the town? I never know whether to stay in a house or not to begin with, I end up wandering the forests with an ever increasing horde on me and eventually I tire out :
be smart play smart and dont be lazy dont do wierd stuff follow your inticts and this is very entertaining even having 200+ hours on the game…
