Came here from AVGN. Saw a few of your videos and obviously the vampire one. Though when I saw you play XCOM I was hooked.
Technically there's only one strategy you need to win at Xcom…save scumming. ^___^
Have to say, the difficulty curve for X-Com 2 feels much higher than for X-Com Enemy Unknown/Enemy Within.
Can you believe that I only finally picked up this game 10 days ago? Took advantage of a Steam Sale to grab the entire thing (WotC included). Hoping this video will prove very helpful :).

I bought Xcom as soon as it came out AND this one as well. They say this one is so difficult but this game doesn’t hold a candle to the original computer game from years ago….that one was insanely hard!

Actually you can rest until the avatar progress is full because when it fill instead of game over you got 25 day until it game over so you can have a rest until it full

tip 11, get two sharpshooters with long watch, one with deadeye and one with lightning hands (or whatever is the free pistol shot) give them both kill zone and give one serial and the other fan fire, (or whatever the pistol chainshot is called) upgrade their snipers to the plasma version along with pistols, give them both advanced scopes, auto loaders, and mag sizes and watch as they kill literally everything

Advanced tips : Build a dps specialist, give him aim spec, and the special ammo that gives crit chances, use the support drone on him. and buy the spec perk in advanced warfare center, so you can crit. Then you 'll have a spec who can replicate on ennemies sometimes 5 times in a single row. This is devastating for engaging the ennemies, try it you 'll have a lot of fun.
For weapon, magazine size or free reload (this one is better) and aiming bonus. You need to reach 110 or better aim, then it will be really efficient. Use scan before using Deadly zone with your sniper. And always engage with your sniper try to locate the hardest ennemie to take take down for the rest of the group.
Did you play on Ironman? I found it to be much more rewarding.

Thanks for the tips, I'm Brazilian and I confess to you that my English is very bad rss. Ai I have to play in Spanish myself, I played the other xcom on ps3 all in Spanish. I am very fan of this franchise, a pity not to have more games of this kind for console 😉

Wet work is retroactive so you don't need to go sraight for it at the beginning. Vulture though should be grabbed ASAP.
Once the Avatar meter fills I hear that you then have another 20 days "grace" to act. In that time you can still do things to set back the alien project. Not quite game over and not as scary as it looks.
I'm not sure if what you said about Wet Work is true. I'm still on my first playthrough, but when I bought Wet Work two of my soldiers suddenly promoted. I think it's because they made it work retroactively – soldiers will gain +25% exp from kills they already had at the point when you buy Wet Work. If that's the case then it's not that important to rush it. It will still help your soldiers get stronger sooner, but getting it earlier won't increase the benefit you get from it.
Hopefully someone who knows for sure whether it works that way or not can confirm or deny this.
Guerrilla Tactics is a must buy first. You need more soldiers ASAP.
