42 hours in and I had no idea about the crosshairs.. learned something better than I was even looking to learn from this video
Why do people use mods on this game. Just play it how it is
wait so youre not supposed to finish your first playhthrough?
is this considered good game design?
Great video this is very helpful, just picked the game up.
Lol you can only make one workshop
I would say skipping magnetic weapons on any difficulty would be bad advice/idea. As both new and expert players should need/want magnetic weapons in there playthrough.
And if you fine yourself unlocking plasma weapons before magnetic weapons. That means you researched to many things of lesser value. And you might want to try a harder difficulty.
But over all I enjoyed the video.
Really good tips for beginners!
Ok its time to replay my playthrough. Ty
I cant find the digital health display mod on Steam. I see the Numeric Health Display mod. Is it that one you mentioned? https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=621376448&searchtext=digital+health+display
Great video btw 🙂
A rambling, poorly enunciated contrivance by someone with a tin ear for English.. had to go turn this off at 4:43. Sorry fella.
Oh hi name sake
Thank you for this,
You could have easily slapped on some random game footage,
or better yet, sat at the menu while you went through a list, but you didn't.
Instead you explained your actions/decisions as you were playing and as they were happening,
I feel it's more immersive and helpful for visual learners.
I really enjoyed that, much appreciation
Who gets Armor instead of shredding on heavy?
for that you will need radio's in your base. Id suggest you build it near your workshop to have more engineers available, or even on a power node in your base to have more power to that building.
9:07 What???
I seriously can't play the fucking game even at Rookie mode.
The game as a whole is screwing me over, not just the combat, regardless of what I do I will not survive the year.
For someone who is make a game guide it would help if you knew what you were even doing. Some good tips here and there but the amount of mistakes you made from explaining things, or even not engaging enemies properly, shows that you should prolly not be posting videos like this. Sorry but NOT helpful!
That mistake can cost you a game
First thing to do is download a mod…
Console Player: Really??
Yeah I feel like flashbangs and smoke grenades have no effect on their aim. Somehow they can still land their shots on my soldiers behind full cover through smoke screens while being disoriented smh -__-
If you've never played any XCOM before you should start this on the hardest difficulty. That way later on when the game gets too hard for you you can turn down the difficulty and continue to play
just a question i have beat the game does that mean now i cant go back to my map and do any other missions i may have missed due to it resets my save to the last avatar i gotta kill.
never put iron man, specialy if you are using mods, because if the game glitches you are fu….
the tips about the reticles was really helpful I completely missed it ,one thing I like to add is if an enemy attack you while you are in cover and missed then change your cover because in second attempts it's guaranteed that they are going to get hit you the same thing applies to enemy also so when you are hitting your enemy plan your attack accordingly as first short might missed but second one is guaranteed success I noticed this while playing as difficulty veteran
I really love the way you are saying proving ground…. you're saying it all wrong.
I dont like using mods 🙁
The camera doesn't seem to follow your guys actions and lets you instantly move to another team member is that a mod or a setting ?
playing this on ps4 ,and didn't expect this game to spank me quite this hard
had you had others on Overwatch when you launched the surprise grenade, they'd have likely died before their turn yeah?
what if i have dlcs
the gurilla tactical school sould not be close to the workshop just a heads up, the building you want close to a workshop is building you can staff engeneeres in
I waited until it was full. 16 days left. I waited until all of my best guys were healed, and one day until I was ready, a ufo attacked and made sure all my guys were injured. At that time, I had less than 5 days left. D:
You always want to have your specialist hacking. You gain 5% hacking skill bonus on every mission in which they hack.
A lot of info = Good
but
The way you give them = Bad
What mods did you use?
Hiya Ronin,
Thank you for the wonderful and thorough tips they really help! I was wondering, does scientific research trigger Aliens to level up faster early on in the game?
I think maybe there is some research to hold off on until your armor is at a certain level. I have restarted to the game ( as I am totally new) many times to see if by mid-game if I am strong enough to handle harder enemies, and I have found that holding off on scientific research and taking things slow really helps with clearing dark events. Any thoughts?
Super helpful guide, thank you!
That fucking crosshair tip about the movement display is awesome. Thanks.
At first I thought Ron Jeremy was playing… I need glasses. And a shrink.
When I have all my soldiers close to the enemy. I will put all on overwatch except 1. That will be the one I open fire with. If you do it right (one with highest hit) you can many times take out the entire group before your next turn.
Just to point this out:
When you were on a mission and shooting that grenade at the Viper and the soldier, a very powerful tactic is placing your guys on overwatch before initiating combat. That way they'll get reaction shots on them when they start moving and potentially kill them before they can even get into cover.
This is also a very useful tactic against reinforcement drops if you can get your soldiers into position on in time.
Thank you, RJ! I'm new to the XCOM franchise and there were some great tips for the beginning player in this video. I've been playing for a couple weeks and the aliens have been bashing my skull in on a regular basis! Now maybe I can give them a rougher time going forward!
