This video interviews a staff member and a service user who took part in the prudent healthcare workshop about chronic pain services in Cardiff & Vale University Health Board.

Patients have a good understanding of how services actually work in practice. For example, communication between departments could be improved — sometimes teams don’t know what is happening elsewhere in their own departments.

Staff need to look at more than just medical outcomes. Conversations with patients can identify the most important outcomes from a treatment or procedure.
