I love monks. But need stuff to have an interesting damage.
Backspace selects all characters in one press.
Your starting party depends on the dialogue choices you make through the intro, according to the Alignment of the choices. Lawful characters like your Lawful choices, Chaotic like Chaotic, and so forth. Pay attention to their Alignment and you can make the right choices to have the ones you want.
The Menu in this early version looks WAAAAY better than the release menu-system….what a terrible decision…
very helpful … thanks brother
For some reason Amiri does not stop raging" – Barbarian life. Going to be interesting actually tracking my rage unlike tabletop… "Oh, yeah, yeah..I rage at start of combat, for sure, I did that…"
Some this I've said before so I apologize but I'm putting it here for clarity.
Something to keep in mind while you are leveling up. If you don't like the class of the party members, then check out their attributes.
I saw in one of your earlier games when you got the Magus, you just kind of left him behind. As a different option level him up as a Wizard (or Sorcerer if Charisma is his casting stat). This gives you an option of another caster instead of a melee (and you know you want to get Fireball later).
For your Rogue/Wizard look at the prerequisites for Arcane Trickster prestige class. This will be worthwhile to pursue as soon as possible. Notice you get more skill points and spells for increasing intelligence so you can turn her into a beast stacking this.
I mentioned it before but if you think your Clerics are getting hurt too often get them a level of Fighter. This will allow you to use Heavy Armor and get an Armor Focus as a bonus feat. I recommend Full Plate armor with the Armor Focus (Full Plate) to go with it and a Large Shield. With a Dexterity of 12 this will give you a armor class of 23.
Your Barbarian is pretty squishy so get her Armor Focus (Breatplate) feat and get her a breastplate ASAP. Increase her Dexterity to 14 as soon as you hit level 4 (This would make her armor class 21). Just so you know every time she is raging it makes her armor class worse (-2 I think) so you want to throw any rings of protection and amulets of armor on her (she should be priority right after the tank). Not sure how the game works but I think she should be able to use the Bastard Sword one handed if she is proficient (give that girl a Large Shield LOL). Considering she is one of your primary damage dealers get her Weapon Focus-Bastard Sword feat.
Your Fighter you need to get Armor Focus (Full Plate) feat and Full Plate ASAP. If you want her to remain in a tank role, increase her Constitution to 20 at level 4 and if not start increasing her Dexterity. Get her Weapon Focus-Longsword, Power Attack, and Weapon Specialization-Longsword in that order. Because of her armor training class ability you want items that improve all her physical stats. Next get her Cleave and Great Cleave feats so she can attack all enemies if she gets surrounded.
With armor be sure to look at the maximum dexterity attribute. Full Plate is going to be better than Half Plate +1 if the person wearing it has a Dexterity 12 because you will get the bonus from dexterity as well. The only class that gets around the maximum dexterity is Fighter. At 3rd level and I think every 4 levels thereafter the maximum dexterity/armor penalty of any armor they wear improves by 1.
Top out your armor every time. If they can use heavy armor get them Full Plate, Medium-Breastplate, and Light Armor-either Chain Shirt or Studded Leather (dependent on how high the wearer's dexterity is). Also, I'm not sure if special material items are available in the game but if they are Mithril armors are allow higher dexterity bonuses and lower skill penalties.
When looking at weapons they all have a standard damage, a critical range, and a critical multiplier. Damage is pretty self-explanatory. Critical range is the chance to critical (usually at best 18-20). Critical Multiplier is exactly what it sounds like (and usually never higher than X3). Most weapons are Crit range 19-20 and multiplier X2 but some either have greater Crit ranges (like rapier) or multipliers (like bows) but usually not both.
Weapons like rapier are worth getting feats like Two Weapon Fighting, Improved Two Weapon Fighting, Double Slice, and Weapon Focus-Rapier for the increased chanced to Critical. Later on Improved Critical-Rapier or then Keen weapon enchantment makes this insane.
You shouldn't really ever prepare cure spells with a cleric unless you take an archetype that trades away spontaneous casting or are of an evil alignment. Otherwise, you can just turn any spell you have into a cure spell.
I've found the only other person in the world who likes to play monk in DnD.
