Never played a survival game. Is it worth it vs Raft and others like it? TY
I'm just trying to survive 2020…..
I watched the whole series when I first started playing the long dark and it helped me a lot!
so bored not you
Such an annoying voice…..I was dozing off it brought me back, wtf !
Whenever I go inside places it’s like pitch black, I have a very hard time seeing where I’m even going a lot of the time
Oh boy, everything i learned in the game was from these videos, before i was watching hadrian's videos i died like 20 times. Now rewatching them just for fun and cuz i came back to the long dark(didnt play it for 1 or 2 years)
I walked half the map in medium difficulty trying to find all the hidden caches(in story mode0 in a blizzard and with hypothermia. although the life meter determines that your character can function this isn't true in real life. no one could do what i did in the game for nearly an hour stumbling with an overload pack and having hypothermia for that long! I even found the caches! and holed up in the church, all without dying and most under the effects of hypothermia and thirst but did not die. the life meter is too forgiving.
I wish they made this game in VR . Being able to turn my head in 360 degrees during a snowstorm would be amazing .
Main tip i'd have for new comers is if you are travelling, stop for shelter well before you think you have to. You dont want to get stuck in a blizzard with no shelter from the wind, trying to start a fire in a blizzard at night and have to set your bedroll where you'll freeze to death in your sleep
A S.T.A.L.K.E.R. will allways choose Stalker.
Should I finish story mode before I play sandbox or should I just dive straight into sandbox mode?
Just got this game yesterday watched a few episodes of the game but the point is that I’m have an amazing time with the game decided to do story first thinking it would help me with survival I pulled the shard out my had first two minutes of the story I died had no idea how to heal myself it was hilarious
I picked up my bedroll and found another cave without attack. I found that it was no longer in my inventory upon trying to sleep?
Is this a bug on the ps4?
Been watching you Survival school in random increments. Good stuff. You def earned my Sub
"sticks and rocks" OK now I have to wonder if that changed or my map is broke because I have seen tons of sticks and the rare chance it let's me grab one it says I need an axe.
I learned a few things but still missing the key thing I need to know.
I am just barely starting to play this, I am thinking of starting by only playing survival. Should I start by playing the story? I want to know how I should start
I tried to buy one but the website is weird. No way to enter credit card info. So my cart never completed. WEIRD!!
P38 can opener that's always with me no Matter what always have it
11:19 triangle for ps4 and Y for Xbox
1:32 TWO years later actually
Having beaten games like Subnautica and The Forest, I thought I would have an ok time on the moderate difficulty, but boy was I wrong..
19:04 – Sees a dead man
19:05 – Steps on his shins
19:22 – Takes his shoes
19:25 – Steps on his face
19:26 – Speaks nothing of dead man. "The first thing I want to do is go ahead and get inside."
This game is basically when you play rock paper scissors with a guy who has a loaded shotgun as one of his moves
so exited to play the game, its downloading while im watvhing this, and this is so much help
Just about to start this game
pilgrim is really the most real. wolfs don't attack when other food is available ' rabbits, deer'. bear, about the same. don't like it through.
About your explanation of the modes, I actually prefer Pilgrim's wildlife settings with more of a focus on survival against the cold and hunger rather than 'oops, I stumbled into a bear and there goes my 100+ day game'. Honestly, I haven't experimented with custom yet but I think I might enjoy trying an interloper level of loot with pilgrim wildlife behavior. I feel like that would be my preferred way to play.
I started my first survival gameplay on Voyageur. I picked random spwning point and the game put me at some random location in Pleasant Valley, and there was heavy snow. Luckily I survived the cold and only got a frostbite on my hands. Currently it's day 89 in the game and I just reached the top of timberwolf mountain.
I’m watching a year later, thank you!
You won't change my mind, I will always call it a toe-kay, and not a took!
I haven't seen all of your tutorials for the game but one thing I haven't heard you talk about is pausing the game, or lack there of. The game doesn't pause unless you hit escape on PC, so while you are looking at your items or reading a journal or note, the game goes on in the background. If you have a wolf or deer in your screen and you got to your backpack you can watch/view the animal moving as the game continues while you view your items/journal.
The only other game that does this (Single player at least) that I know of off the top of my head is the Deadspace series. Its a very important thing to note considering your condition can go down while viewing items or reading journal and notes, plus animals could attack you at this time.
Great series though, picked up a few hints/tips that I will for sure be using in my play through.
Have had the game for years, but finally getting into it and loving it. Just discovered this series and wanted to say thanks!
You are the best
great game i wonder is the game over when you die and do you start over from beginning or?
I'm glad I bought this game at half price it seems to be that I am crap at this but its fun
Really good tutorial and love what you do keep it up <3
Yah I tried interloper 50 times before going to voyager.
It really taught me nothing and at most I survived a day. And I'm an experienced survival gamer craving challenge.
Start with voyager
"there is nothing like playng this game for the first time having no idea what you doing"
you mean sneaking for 20 mins and not understanding why you are so slow?
Remember in the long dark, sticks and stones wont break your bones but the wolves will surely eat you.
I just got it but.. on the xbox its on free trial for 2 hours… I haven't Died once on the Survival mode but there has been 2 times where i thought i was dead. I really hope i can buy this game in the future!
It is me or he talks at 1.25 speed? (try 0,75 speed)
If the maps were randomized like in Minecraft, even the veterans would get fucked up. I'm not talking about starting you off in a random location I'm talking about the entirety of the map gets changed. This game is all about memory
My apologies to intrude here; may I ask you H’ have you heard any information on if this good game will be coming out on The Nintendo Switch console? As I’m seeing other videos stating this yet at the same time there are comments saying that it isn’t being released to the Nintendo console.
Could you find any information for us? Thank you. No problem if not.
James
My gf and I just got The Long Dark and it really is amazing. If anyone is considering getting it, please do! This may sound odd (or may not, to some) but this game strongly reminds me of Journey (2012 PS Network on PS3, ported to PS4 in 2015). The gameplay itself isn’t very similar, it’s closer to the atmosphere and ambience that Journey effortlessly perfected that makes The Long Dark special. At least, that’s how it’s special to me. Definitely recommend anyone to check it out.
very good tutorial video, taught me some really useful stuff, thanks!
