I don't know if someone still remember, but I had a bug (I was a noob) and played as Japan. The thing i done was vassalizing Ryuku, after witch one every time my monarch die ore start rulling the country i had an event witch decreaces some relations with Ryuku but gave you 2 base tax in Kyoto. In my game i had Kyoto with 34 base Tax, but it was on old version (v1.1 if I remember corectly).
I think this is already scrapped. Or I'm doing it wrong, I released Shiba as a vassal and I can't seize Kyoto back after I took it from them.

I have an issue with this exploit. When I conquer Kyoto, all other countries of Japan become vassals of Ming! And no event for me. Should I give Kyoto to vassal first, to make it work? Or do I have to destroy other Japan vassals?
Wont work because neither japan or ainu is discovered at game start 1444 as any of the hordes. Plus it would take a lot of razing to reduce Kyoto to a 1/1/1 province, and you would have to keep ainu as a vassal all the time. As the time goes, its LD reduction from prestige will fade away, and you would have to sacrifice more and more prestige for it, and you cant placate with negative prestige.
Cool idea tho.
I'm going to use this to conquer the world in about 80 years, I think.
Start as timurids -> Rush to manchuria. Exploration, discover ainu, get kyoto, feed ainu forts.
Play normally gathering prestige, and at some point you won the game
