The UK Driving Test includes the option of the reverse bay parking manoeuvre. We always recommend reversing into parking bays whenever possible, as the car is more manoeuvrable and it is much safer to drive forwards out of the bay afterwards. In this video, we’ll show how to reverse bay park safely – with an overview of the manoeuvre from outside the car, and then a more detailed view from inside the car. If you have any questions about the video then please leave a comment and we will do our best to reply.
We have also filmed how to Reverse Bay Park with the 45° method, so if you would like to find out how that works watch this video:

Passed my test! These videos are so helpful guys! Thank you 😫🙏🏾
Have my 3rd driving test this friday.. I feel anxious and deflated but I'm watching your videos continuously so I hope it helps me. Wish me luck 🤞
Hello and thank you for making this video series.
However I strongly feel the size of Bay (how wide a bay is) has given different results. I had real trouble using this technique in a wider (than most)parking Bay.
Could you please add references for in case wider/in case narrower Bay situations that would be more helpful.
i really enjoyed ths and found it very usful. all i can say is hankyou
Thanks🙏
My instructor tells me to put the lock on before I start reversing. I cannot for the life of me get my reference point right and I constantly mess this manoeuvre up. I have my test soon and I feel like giving up 😢
I got this first time on Friday
Hi does the shoulder method works for 3 bays line? Why do some say we must line our wings mirror with the 3rd bay line or middle of the passenger door? Which method actually works the best. I'm having test soon and I find parking tough.
It's harder than it looks 😂
Thank u , these videos are worth watching. Hopefully l will pass my test coz l watch them daily
This manoeuvre messed me up today. I prefer the 45’ degree parking but went with this because EVERYONE keeps saying its easier. I failed with 1 serious (reverse bay parking) and 4 minors😢. My advice do whatever is most comfortable guys as long as its safe
where did you purchase the Head Up Display unit and is this reliable?
am on my parking lesson stay i think took my 8th lesson gonna do my theory later
Watching this with my test in 20 minutes
I PASSED!
Have my test on the 14th of October and I'm practicing as much as i can. I really hope to pass first time. The reverse parking is my fear as sometimes I get it and other times I don't
I generally get it fairly right however find myself correcting into the lines, would correcting be a minor or major?
Really useful, thank you!
No bay is wide enough for door opening
Hi went test they ask to do bay reverse parking unfortunately touch the curb my test finished. Please give me best video link reverse bay parking.
If you hit the kerb during the parallel parking will that fail you?
How much does a car cost ?
Im learning this with my instructor but he teaches it differently to how you teach it
You specify this is for reversing but would it also work when going forward?
This will not work with measurements.everyone has to use his own common sense .by experience you will have your own style .
Almost a year after passing my test, I finally have a car and I've realised I'm still useless at bay parking. So I'm back on this channel 😅 (but it feels so good to be watching these videos now, knowing I've passed my test…)
Thank you once again
Thanks for the tips, very informative! I'm nearly ready for my Practical, just need to get this right! I struggle so hard! But needs to be done thought lol. Maybe have highlights from the birds-eye view. Like having three red highlights on the three bays to pass and a green one as the targeted bay. Any more tips I need I will look to this channel. 🙂
Since it is a two way road, what if I am on the right or left lane. Will the same techniques apply anyway?
Reserve parking on the left? Do I stear full lock left?
Hi. For taking ADI practical test, if i reverse into bay, but then have to go forward to straighten up, would I fail the test? Thanks.
Going for my P test in Australia next Wednesday! We have to learn this + a parallel park. Thankyou so much!!
If reversing into bay next to a parked car, you've got to hope that they are within their own bay lines. Unfortunately, there are selfish drivers out there that take up two bays.
I have 80 lessons
I messed up with the t parking reverse test. I failed so bad and everyone was staring at me. Yeah, it’s really embarrassing. 🙁
Thank you!
My instructor has taught me the 45 degree method. I'm really struggling, is this easier?
Thanks so much for your videos, they’re so helpful! Do you know if you can put these sticky dots in your own car and have them there for your test? I’m taking mine in my own car and can’t to without the dots at the minute!
Does the examiner ask you to do parallel park?
When you get to the 3rd bay, how do you know where to stop at the bay level line? Is it when you wing mirror is on the bay line?
