the whole point of mortars is that they don't need direct line of sight, you noobatron!
this game need a tutorial and spectator mode
Oh, how much I hate those pointless videos that really say nothing at all. Pause? Arrange units before the battle? These are not "Top Tips", this is less than the basic tutorial! Tips are unit arrangements, city managements, research planning, etc, etc. Come on, guys, call those videos for what they really are – a basic game overview for commercial reasons.

If you a total war newbie, start with shogun 2. The best total war imo. Thank to Rome 2, I stop pre-ordering games entirely. There are silver lining after all…..
Artillery and archers obviously are able to fire at enemies without direct line of sight, thats somewhat the purpose of these units or at least a very useful tactic indeed. Greetings from Germany =)

Unless you've actually done something noteworthy in Total War, this kind of content is just random crap. For all we know you're some random guy who can barely manage Easy mode trying to lecture people on how to play a game that isn't even out yet.
I hope the release is well optimized and relatively bug free (bugs will always happen) because I would like this game to succeed and see more races from the Warhammer universe… Necrons maybe? Or Grey Knights??
With ign's ability at this game as we have seen so far? That have no right telling us how to play total war after that mess of a playthrough.

Tip 7: Never ever pre order video game
your guy who played the first 15 mins of the greenskins campaign should probably watch this
use your cheap units to keep the enemy in place while you attack from the side/back with cavalry.
