The UK Driving Test includes the option of the reverse bay parking manoeuvre, but it’s also a really useful skill for use in real life. Most new drivers are taught to do the 90° method for their test, but there is another way – the 45° method. In this video, we’ll show how to do the 45° reverse bay park safely – with an overview of the manoeuvre from outside the car, and then a more detailed view from inside the car. We also have a few tips for when you need to park between two other vehicles, or what to do if it goes wrong. If you have any questions about the video then please leave a comment and we will do our best to reply.
We have also filmed how to Reverse Bay Park with the 90° method, so if you would like to see how that works click here:

When you reach the target bay. When do we full lock ? is there a reference point ?
Hi,
I have been watching most of the videos, and I have learnt so many driving techniques from your channel. My driving test will be on Thursday 19th of November and hoping to pass on first time. Thanks
Are you still allowed to do the 45 degree technique in tests (2020)?
Are you allowed to drive over the lines as long as you end up inside them?
im sorry but this video will tend to bump the outer car while trying to estimate the reverse. make the car nearer than it should.. just my opinion..
This sounds like a whole lot of work. I am gonna hire a driver.
Hi , Nice video. But if reference points can be marked, how to position using mirrors, when to steer the wheels, mistake happens how to correct – if these can be added to video it's going to be more helpful. Tnxs
Is this apply for. In Ontario
Canada??!
Thank you you’re this video..very helpful 👏👍
Good 👍
Thanks ,big help for parking .
There…is…another…way…
Like if you want to start a car which gear did you have to reverse
got my driving test on thursday and this is definitely my worst manoeuvre
Good driving
I wish my instructor's car's got a camera at the back like your car.
Can this method be used on a test in 2020 instead of 90degree reverse bay parking if 45 degree is what we are more comfortable doing?
Where is this parking
No cones no exact references we need that on the test day not providing good informations to the learners even if we are doing parking there must be cones or whatever
Thank you very much
Am I miss something? I need view frow left side mirror.. View for back whell… I am sorry my English not good.
Quite confusing cause dont really know the parking he is using. The parking should have highlighted somehow
Hello, does anyone know if after going 45 degrees you need to pull your handbrake before putting into reverse? (For driving test purposes) thanks
Everything is good and clear except not clearly indication when to turn 45° and I keep watching the video and couldn't see clearly like when the car reached the parking space middle turn? head turn? it is so frustrating. For me it is so important as a beginner, as I always mistake the turning and end up bumping into other car.
Thanks
You are using back camera which most cars don't actually have, it basically like me opening the door and checking where the line is. You don't at all mention reference points, what kind of rubbish video is this
Now l am understand to follow it.
