Soft leaves less brush marks..and when cutting in feather below where the roller would stop. It blends better and harder to see cut in vs roller stop.
Wiping the paint off isn't advisable, dab it on the inside of the pot
I just have to say, your sarcasm is exactly on my level and it makes your videos so much more amazing
Lol “be all dumb” 😆
Nice thing about the paint cup? The handle is adjustable – big or small hands just look on the bottom to adjust the strap.
Favorite tip *make sure to wash your brush off in the kitchen sink and don't wash any of the residual paint off the side of the sink so they know you were there. Lmao.
Good tutorial.. Iam from malaysia painting brush colour decoration.
Thanks for the video! I learned about wetting the brush to start and even to rinse it out every so often. It will help keep the weight of the brush down and keep the brush more usable. I also like the cup liner. I have a cup like that and I slacked off cleaning it last time. I was thinking to toss it but now I will get some liners. Lastly, I am 51 and mostly do not complete the rolling at one shot. I wrap the roller in plastic and can finish rolling the next day.
I love your teaching style and method. Thank you for making these videos.
A wire brush is what you want to use to clean your paint brush
That last tip is actually the tip I was hoping for. Washing your brush about every hour. I have found my brush getting so saturated if painting for long time. Thank you. That is when a brush 'spinner/dryer' would really be helpful.
You look like you have been dabbing the brush against your temples!!! Thanks for the tips…I've been doing it wrong for years. LOL
Hahaha, use the kitchen sink & leave the calling card.
SCUFFED STEVE O
you just mess me up putting bench later on top of cord. bye….
Same color wall and celling is not cutting. But I like all your other videos.
You look an amateur painter the way you paint not a pro painter.A better prepared paint its better for cutting and lines and you can use almost every brush if you know how prepare your walls , your wood and your paint.
Wonderful thank you very much keep up the good job.
It’s obvious you’re a carpenter and not a professional Painter.
Wet the Brush!!👏👏👏 Great info THANK YOU!!
Dip and smack your brush on each side inside the "cut pot" not paint can. Keep a heavy load start low amd work quickly towards your line to cut perfectly. UNION painter for 25 years here. A good painter uses a flat line brush not a angled brush. NEVER SCRAPE PAINT OFF THE SIDES OF THE BRUSH.
You're definitely not a painter lmfao
I'm not a beginning painter, but I still learned a few things from this video. He's a good teacher, not repetitive like some.
My biggest take away: I need to feather my cutting strokes better. Thank you, I am about to paint a very well lit bathroom and this one tip is really going to make a difference. ✌😁
Saving time ,money and problems🙌⭐😷🌅👽👌
He's kinda creepy !
dip the brush, it loads both side of the brush, then tap both sides against the bucket to pack the paint against the brush to avoid it dripping while raising brush into your cutting area When cutting in, stagger the bottom of your cut in so its slightly zig zag. You do this so a boxing look does project through after the roll in overlaps the cut in. The different layers have different viscosity, once dry the cut in area will dry heavier and the rolled areas will have less paint and show the underlying color through it. Its all about hide and full coverage. Anyone can hide a base color if they aren’t that different to begin with. When you can only paint one coat to hide a difficult color, you better have a good cut in technique to how you roll into the cut in areas. Its kinda like how uneven spraying can look until it all dries out evenly because you spray randomly. A loaded paintbrush
with back brushing to lay it out smoothly is like spraying it on, the heavier smoother coat hides better than a roller. A roller puts paint on and also takes paint off. Brush bristles do a much better job of hiding a darker base color with a lighter top coat color than a roller. Sure you can flood paint on with a roller, but it will be such a heavy orange peel texture and can sag and run.
Mike's Painting Service – A good general video for beginners. Respectful tips: Don't scrape the brush on the side's of the can. Dip the brush about 3/8" inch, then tap it on the inside to load the brush with paint. Scraping will eventually start curling the brush hairs also. When applying, instead of painting completely straight with your line, try about a 30 degree angle, and get your brush hairs cutting a perfect line. Righty's usually go from left to right, and lefties the opposite. I use those hand held paint pots with liner's….the best. The term is, "Picture Framing." Don't make your paint line too wide, or you will see it when you roll the rest out. In a bathroom, you should prime it first, because of the high moisture. I use "Gripper." There are also oil base sealers, but they take longer, but work excellent. But over-all Ben, as usual…good job. I watch your video's every day, and learn.
Good video. 👍🏻
Very helpful 👌🏻
Thank You for all your advice and tips
Useful tips. Thank you.
thankyou very good just usd more light on yor work
The first way you did it when you started is actually the proper way , its the way I have always done it and never get it on cieling but whatever floats ur boat!!
Thank you from the UK 🇬🇧
8:45 dont do it slow ‘cos thats dumb ..😃 .. thats life advice.
After I wash my brush, I put my boot forward , heel on ground, and hit the side of the brush sharply on my boot toe. I will see if there is still paint in the brush, and it gets the water out. I do this outside, so the spatter is on the ground.
Pro painters rule #1 – always keep your brush wet!
You can spot a real pro painter from far away – they never use a masking tape. Cut a straight line with a cutting brash and the quickly roll the walls. Commonly performed by two painters – one cutting while the other rolling. This is most effective and quick technique in residential painting.
Thank you for taking the time to do this. I learned !!!!!!!!!!!!!
